There comes a time when an artist must expose himself (so to speak) to the world at large. To stand naked before the masses, a coming out of sorts.
You could say that this is my coming out. After 47 years of experimentation, vision, hard work, personal growth, successes, failures and, literally, blood, sweat and tears, I stand naked before the masses.
Within these pages are my images of how I see the world and what I see in the world. Since the age of 9, I’ve been taking pictures. I often tell people I have a disease, and in many ways, I do believe that creativity of any kind is a disease. As an artist, you go through life with all of your senses in constant assault. Light, dark, color, texture, sound, movement, smell, feel, taste, emotion, perception, understanding, interpretation. It’s all information which is constantly being evaluated, interpreted, translated and framed.
Be it the notes of the composer, the words of the poet, the sounds of the musician, the strokes of the painter, the textures of the sculptor, the tastes of the chef, or the freezing of a moment in time by the photographer, it’s this constant barrage of information that influences and drives the artist to create.
Within these pages are the assorted results of my creativity disease. A disease which fulfills, enlightens and satisfies.
“Once in a while you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.”
